PPL Industries Volunteer Opportunities—
For Employees at all Levels of Your Organization
PPL’s Volunteer Program relies upon the knowledge and experience
of neighborhood residents, community organizations, and concerned
people everywhere. Every year, approximately 1,000 volunteers
provide crucial services, skills, and expertise to PPL’s
programs.
Being a volunteer doesn’t have to entail a big commitment.
Offering just a few hours of your time per week or month can go
a long way toward helping PPL—and making you feel good at
the same time. Here is what current volunteers say about their
experiences.
“We have found PPL a great place to focus some of our corporate volunteer efforts. The volunteer coordinators at PPL make it easy with a well organized structure and good learning experience for both our associates and the program participants. PPL uses the volunteer resources to supplement staff and extend service in a cost effective manner.”

• Retired Teacher. “After I retired from teaching, PPL Industries provided me with something meaningful to do with my new “free time.” I was asked to help a trainee with her science test as she worked toward her GED. Seven years later, I am still volunteering in the GED program. Whether I’m helping someone learn science or math, what makes volunteering at Industries ‘special’ is my personal contact with the trainees.”
•
Writer. “I had been looking for a way to contribute
my writing and editing skills to an organization that was in need.
When PPL contacted me and asked for some assistance with a project,
I was more than happy to help. It’s easy to see that PPL changes
lives.” • Youth Advocate.
“I tutor adults working toward their GED or who need extra
help in the basics of reading, writing, and math. I keep coming
back because I truly enjoy the people. Each person has a story all
their own and it has been a pleasure getting to know each one.”
